Hi Gordy, my name is Leesa, I've just moved to Pau and I was wondering if you got any response or further advice about french lessons? I am keen to start some lessons too! Warmly, Leesa
hi Leesa,
I've just moved to Pau too and I'd really like to make some English friends here. I could help you and Gordy with your French as I'm a native French speaker... I also need to practise English...so what about
working someting out together?
I would be very glad to help you with your French not in a class but rather on an informal basis... I also have lots of questions as regards the English language and am sometimes badly in need for assistance. A little practice could also be extremely useful for me...so, why not help each other?
Hi I've done a little research into French courses in the area:
La Pepiniere offer classes 2x 1.5 hr classes a week, runs Sept- August I think, but is currently full until new admissions in September. Very reasonable price see info below:
Français - La Pépinière - http://www.pepiniere-pau.com/
05 59 92 72 29
Dispositif Apprentissage Français
20 €/trimestre
The uni do various courses, but they dont appear to do a weekly class of a few hours, only intensive 12week courses for about 800 euro or a 70 hour course june-july for about 600 euro. For uni course info. see: http://iefe.univ-pau.fr/live/Our+main+French+courses
I've decided to do an intensive course in Biarritz, it costs about 550 euro for 2 weeks (26 hours a wk) I'm starting 31st March for 2 weeks but I think you cant start anytime and for as many weeks as you like. See apple website for details: www.applelanguages.com
I'm also going to sign up for the pepiniere course when it starts again in September as well as the Biarritz course.
Thanks for all this.
Sorry for the delay in replying, just moved in to our new place and haven't had the internet for a couple of weeks (just got a neuf box)
As it's been a bit hectic for us in the last few weeks i haven't had a chance to look into anything, I really need to soon as i'm really struggling!
I did the summer course at Pau Uni a couple of years ago and after a slow start made quite abit of progress by the end and my confidence was sky high (which i think is half the battle).
Think i will also sign up for the pepiniere course in september and maybe try to find a tutor in the mean time.
Let me know how you get on on your course and maybe we could meet up for a coffee at some stage, where are you based?
