Hello,
I am moving this month to live in Pau and am keen to find an English-speaking Dentist and General Practioner Doctor. If anyone has any recommendations, then please either reply here or email me directly at tony.burt@yahoo.com
Many thanks in advance.
Tony

Hi Tony
Yes, I can reccomend 2 dentists, i who is English and 1 who is French but speaks perfect English. I have a wonderful French but English speaking G.P. but the practice is in Soumoulou so that would depend where you are going to be living. If you want further info, leave me a message on here and I'll email you with the details.

Hi Sharon,
Thank you for the response and I would certainly appreciate the details of the dentists.
We will be working in the centre of Pau and, at least for our first year, renting a house in Laruns in the south so something central in Pau would be ideal. The GP might be a little out of the way, although since it is not urgent, maybe that one can wait.
Many thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony
The English dentist is called Julian Somers and his practice is in Avenue Plaisance in Lescar. Tel no. 05.59.81.15.27. The French (English speaking) dentist is called Didier Keller and his practice is at 3, Impasse Bellevue in Bordes (south of Pau, near Nay). Tel no. 05.59.53.22.37. I've only used Julian but know from others that Didier is equally good (and he has a great sense of humour!). Hope this helps.

Hi Tony and Sharon,
Sorry to barge in on your thread, we are also looking for a GP who speaks very good English. My wife has several health complications and we are looking for a doctor who can really understand the issues involved.
You mentioned a doctor in Soumoulou, if he speaks excellent English could I be so bold as to ask for his details?
Our local doctors are good but only one speaks English (just).
I would be grateful for your help.
Thanks once again.
Brian Gibbs.

Hi Brian. You are most welcome to share my thread! I used to live in the Gers, near Plaisance and I know there is a Dutch doctor practising in the Cabinet Medical there and I believe he speaks English (as most Dutch people do). I gladly recommend my wonderful French doctor in Soumoulou who just loves to speak English as he doesn't get much opportunity. He is also extremely nice...... His name is Dr. Sauzon and his practice is just off the main street opposite the pharmacy. Tel no: 05.59.04.10.22. (He doesn't work Wednesdays). Hope either of these suggestions helps. Enjoy your stay in France and thanks for your kind comments about our site.
